In 2008 the town hall in Ranst had a open door day and re-opened the gates of Ord Depot Antwerp to the public, this being 16 years after the closing of the camp created a lot of interest within the local community and also amongst some expats who served there. This was such a success the town hall asked a few of the expats if they would help in putting a book together about the camp it’s history and role. They all said yes and decided amongst themselves that it would maybe interesting to set up a website about the camp and a forum to re-unite the former occupants of this fine establishment and place in time.
